Human Resource Generalist (Job Code: WW/BA/8007) We are seeking a human resources assistant/generalist to join a Human Resources unit tasked with supporting nationwide telephone data collection efforts. This individual will assist in identifying potential leadership qualities in existing staff. Understanding of Federal employment laws and their application is critical; experience in a multi-jurisdictional role would be helpful. Qualified candidates will also possess excellent communications skills (written and verbal) and the ability to work in an MS Office environment. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or higher in human resources or a related field and some experience in performance management and recruiting. Certification is a plus.

Human Resource Generalist (Job Code: WW/JS/8810) We are seeking a human resource generalist to provide leadership, recruiting, and management expertise to support staffing of Westat’s research project operations. The key responsibility will be to provide HR support in all aspects of the recruitment and retention of hourly staff. The successful candidate should be comfortable dealing with all levels of staff within an organization; have demonstrated ability and expertise in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management; and have an in-depth understanding of Federal employment laws and their application. In addition, individual must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in HR or a related discipline with at least 2 to 5 years of relevant postdegree experience is required. PHR certification is a plus.

Entry Level EVM Specialists (Job Code: WW/AC/8311) We are looking for candidates who are interested in becoming Earned Value Management (EVM) specialists. You will learn EVM concepts and management tools such as MS Project and Cobra (an EVM report generator). The training process will include attending classes and on-the-job training. As you gain experience, you will be developing work breakdown structures, organizational breakdown structures, budgets, schedules, EVM reports, forecasts, performance measurement baselines, and integrated master schedules. Candidates must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; be a self-starter; have effective communication skills, and be able to interface with all levels of management and clients. A degree is required with preferred concentrations in business, accounting, or finance. At least 2 years of experience in contracts administration, financial analysis, accounting, or auditing would be a plus.

EVM Specialists (Job Code: WW/AC/8308) We are seeking Earned Value Management (EVM) specialists with at least 5 years of experience implementing EVM techniques in a Government contracting environment. Knowledge and working experience with ANSI/EIA -748 and EVM project management tools such as MS Project and COBRA are essential. Must also have working experience with the following EVM components: work breakdown structures, organizational breakdown structures, budgets, schedules, reports (in all five formats), forecasts, performance measurement baselines, and integrated master schedules. Qualified candidates should be able to prepare cost performance reports, cost schedule status reports, variance analyses, and explain corrective actions. This position also requires having excellent analytical and problem- solving skills, being a self-starter, having effective communication skills, and being able to interface effectively with all levels of management and clients. A bachelor’s degree is required, with a concentration in business or accounting preferred.

Payroll Tax Specialist (Job Code: WW/AC/8310) We are seeking a payroll tax specialist to join our payroll group tasked with operating an in-house payroll system for thousands of employees nationwide. Must have experience with W-2, Federal, state, and local jurisdiction withholding and unemployment tax preparation, payment, and filing, and also including e-filing. Must be computer proficient, comfortable with MS Office applications to include Excel, Access, and Word and very capable with Internet-based tax-related research. Must be detail oriented, have a strong aptitude for numbers, and have exemplary oral and written communication skills. In addition, the successful candidate will have a proven track record resolving tax-related discrepancies with various agencies. Experience relating to processing and remitting employee garnishment and child support mandated orders a plus. Candidates should have a degree in a business-related discipline and prior experience in performance of multijurisdictional tax filings.

Web/Multimedia Designer/Developer (Job Code: WW/GR/8307) We are seeking an experienced web developer and designer to work in our award-winning in-house Graphics Department. As a research corporation, we provide products for a vast variety of study areas such as health studies, education, the environment, and the sciences. This is an opportunity to work with a team of talented, highly skilled designers and with challenging projects. Requirements include having 2 -5 years of experience developing web sites using CSS and XHTML (for multiple browsers) and creating progressive interface designs. Advanced knowledge of Dreamweaver and Photoshop is required while knowledge of Database, net programming, accessibility, and usability experience is preferable. Technical skills are needed in the following areas: Actionscript 2.0 and /or 3.0, Lingo, Javascript, PHP, and ASP. A background in using MySQl, and SQL Server is helpful and work with Flash and Director is a plus.

Proposal Editor/Coordinator (Job Code: WW/JE/8305) We are seeking a proposal professional to edit, coordinate tasks, and manage production of proposals and grants. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience in a fast-paced proposal environment. Duties include copy editing and proofreading for accuracy, consistency, and conformity to style; understanding and following Federal, state, and private agency RFP requirements; and coordinating writing schedules, format, recordkeeping, reproduction, and delivery of proposals. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, familiarity with the GPO and Chicago style manuals, and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Experience with Grants.gov and other electronic grants systems is a plus.

Resume Editor/Coordinator (Job Code: WW/JE/8309) We are seeking an editor to assume responsibility for coordinating the corporate resume system. Position involves a combination of editing and record-keeping activities including (1) collecting, organizing, and managing hard-copy and electronic versions of resumes for incoming staff; (2) writing and finalizing new resumes in accordance with resume style guide; (3) processing permanent resume updates; (4) coordinating regular updates across research groups; (5) developing database systems to track and record processes; and (6) coordinating and reviewing the work of staff assisting with these activities. Desired qualifications include strong copyediting and proofreading skills; experience in large-scale document management; ability to learn and consistently apply resume style guidelines; familiarity with GPO, Chicago, and/or APA style; ability to work quickly and accurately online; and ability to manage and track multiple tasks, work under time pressure, and keep excellent records.

Warehouse Manager (Job Code: WW/HS/8463) We have an immediate opening for a warehouse manager to support a large multiyear national health study. Responsibilities include ensuring that study centers have the necessary equipment, materials, and supplies required for data collection activities; planning and organizing warehouse space; purchasing supplies, materials, and equipment; receiving, inspecting and stocking inventory; preparing inventory reports; preparing supplies and materials for shipping; and supervising warehouse staff. Previous experience with an automated warehouse management system is highly desirable. Applicants should possess a high level of self-motivation and be detail-oriented, work well in a team environment, and have solid computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.). A minimum of a high school diploma/GED is required. At least 4 years of warehouse shipping, receiving management, and supervisory experience is preferred.

Building Coordinator (Job Code: WW/FS/8312) We are seeking a conscientious and organized individual to join our busy Facilities Department. Qualified individual will be responsible for supporting professional office staff in one or more buildings in all facilities-related matters. Responsibilities entail numerous tasks including: coordinating, scheduling, and supervising individual and group office moves; dealing directly with property management and building engineering to resolve related building issues; and working directly with vendors responsible for our various needs to include such particulars as furniture and fixtures, office construction/renovation/upkeep, and daytime/nighttime custodial. The successful candidate will have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to multitask. Should be able to work independently as well as with other department members and support groups. Candidate should have good computer skills and familiarity with MS Word and Excel.
