Westat staff will be participating at the 11th Annual National Conference on Health Communication, Marketing, and Media to be held August 15-17, 2017, in Atlanta, Georgia. The conference is sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Public Health Information Coalition, and the Society for Health Communication.
Westat is a corporate sponsor of the conference, and Westat Vice President Terry Savage serves on the conference planning committee and will moderate several sessions.
Laura Lourenco, Westat’s senior user experience expert, organized and will be speaking in a Spotlight Session, “Design Thinking for Health Communications and Marketing.” Other panelists include Laura Lloyd of the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy and Maylin De Leon and Gema Zywiciel of SABEResPODER. This session will take place on Wednesday, August 16 at 1:15 p.m.
Using the Innovation Next project as a case study, attendees will learn how the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy used design thinking to catalyze teen pregnancy prevention through a grant to develop technology-based solutions.
