David Marker Elected Fellow of American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
David Marker, Ph.D., a Westat senior statistician and Associate Director, has been elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) by the AAAS Council. Individuals are elected for their distinguished efforts to advance science or its applications, notes the AAAS.
Specifically, Dr. Marker receives this honor for his “distinguished contributions to improving the quality of statistics and surveys within government agencies, and for the communication of science for government and public policy,” according to AAAS.
Dr. Marker will be honored with the other newly elected Fellows on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the AAAS Fellows Forum during the 2019 AAAS Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
