Garrett Moran Invited to Discuss Solutions to Combat Opioid Epidemic

Garrett Moran, Ph.D., a Westat Vice President and Associate Director, has been invited to participate at an invitation-only meeting, “Innovative Data and Technology Solutions to Combat the Opioid Use Disorder Epidemic.” The meeting, sponsored by the Network for Excellence in Health Innovation, will be held April 25, 2018, from 2-5 pm at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.

Topic: Barriers to data access and data sharing across patient and clinical platforms that impinge on opioid use disorder prevention and treatment

Invited panelists: Officials from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, National Governors Association, American Hospital Association, American Medical Association


Solutions: 3:35—4:50 pm

Topic: Technological solutions available to facilitate better opioid use disorder prevention and treatment, as well as the opportunities to accelerate constructive change

Invited speakers: Representatives from Allscripts, Surescripts, Epic, Cerner, Google, Amazon Web Services
