Improving Data Quality, Examining Data Trends: Westat at 2019 STATS-DC Conference

Westat provided expertise at the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) 2019 NCES STATS-DC Data Conference in July. Our staff focused on improving data quality for local and state Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) programs and using the data to inform program improvement.

Westat staff provide major technical assistance to state and local clients through the IDEA Data Center (IDC), the Center to Improve Program and Project Performance, the Center for IDEA Fiscal Reporting, and other projects. NCES sponsors this important annual conference, and Westat has contributed to its content for many years.

Westat staff (names in bold) participated as follows:

Danielle Crain, Tiffany Boyd, and Richelle Davis. (Presentation). Using IDEA Data Quality Reports to Drive Program Improvement.

Hadley Moore and Rebecca Smith. (Presentation). State of the States–Using 618 Data to Explore Trends in Special Education and Early Intervention.

Heather Reynolds, Lindsay Wise, and Joanna LaGuardia. (Presentation). Supporting States in Improving Local Data Quality.
