Westat Announces New Senior Statistical Fellows

October 21, 2020

Two Westat statisticians have been appointed Senior Statistical Fellows: Jill DeMatteis, Ph.D., and Tom Krenzke. The honor comes in recognition of their many contributions to the field. They will serve on the Statistical Fellows Committee, which provides consultation on important survey statistics issues and addresses recent advances in applied statistics.

Jean Opsomer, Ph.D., Vice President, is appointed to co-chair the committee replacing Graham Kalton, Ph.D., who will remain on the committee as a Nonresident Senior Statistical Fellow. J. Michael Brick, Ph.D., Senior Vice President, will continue to serve as co-chair of the committee.

Dr. DeMatteis is a Vice President and Associate Director for Statistics and Evaluation Sciences. She has nearly 30 years of experience in survey statistics, including sample design and estimation. Her particular areas of interest include address-based sampling, coverage and nonresponse error, and sample design and estimation for longitudinal surveys.

Mr. Krenzke is a Vice President and Associate Director for Statistics and Evaluation Sciences with extensive experience in survey sampling and estimation techniques. He has led research in statistical confidentiality, sample design, nonprobability sampling, small area estimation, variance estimation, imputation, and nonresponse bias.
