Westat Partners with University of Louisville on COVID-19 Antibody Testing

Westat is working with researchers at the University of Louisville to carry out COVID-19 active viral infection and antibody testing on a stratified random sample of adult residents of Jefferson County Kentucky where Louisville is located. The research will help establish the prevalence of infection in the community to support re-opening efforts.
Westat is using address-based sampling to identify the sample and will screen households to recruit approximately 2,400 individuals who will be directed to testing sites around the county. Testing will be done by the University of Louisville.
The study is moving on an accelerated schedule with only about 3 weeks from the start of development to the first mailing. Mary Dingwall, the project director, J. Michael Brick, Ph.D., the lead statistician, and Westat’s Research Operations, Project IT, and Survey Methodology groups have quickly and effectively mobilized to support this important project.
