Westat Staff Coauthor New Article on Inhibiting Perinatal HIV Transmission
What drugs work the best at inhibiting perinatal transmission of HIV from mothers to infants? Westat staff members Lauren Laimon and Roslyn Hennessey are among the coauthors of a new journal article regarding the safety and efficacy of antiretroviral therapy in late pregnancy. The article appears in The Lancet HIV: Raltegravir versus efavirenz in antiretroviral-naive pregnant women living with HIV (NICHD P1081): an open-label, randomised, controlled, phase 4 trial.
The findings support the current guidelines of the preferred regimen.
