Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children. Westat is invested in reducing child passenger injuries and fatalities.

Our staff will be sharing our safety research at the Kidz in Motion 2019 National Child Passenger Safety Conference, August 21-24, 2019, in Orlando, Florida. We’ll be collaborating with other child passenger safety advocates and lending our expertise on data collection and data analysis.

Adele Polson. (Invited Presenter). Data Analysis for the National Digital Car Seat Check Form.

Adele Polson and Doreen De Leonardis have been invited to attend the dinner honoring National Digital Car Seat Check Form “Champions,” people and organizations, like Westat, that have helped develop and promote the form.

Ms. Polson and Dr. De Leonardis are certified child passenger safety technicians (CPSTs) who routinely volunteer at checkpoints in Montgomery County, Maryland. They also have conducted important research into child safety issues relating to restraint use fit, child seat use across the U.S., and caregiver awareness and use of child safety seat checkpoints. They are working with the National Safety Council and other stakeholders to enhance the use of the National Digital Car Seat Check Form and analysis of its data.
