Westat experts led the development of a new Excel-based tool for the Center for IDEA Fiscal Reporting (CIFR). The Part C IDEA Fiscal Timeline Tool helps state education departments meet annual federal fiscal requirements required by the federal government under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
The newly launched tool is specifically designed to streamline the process of planning and monitoring ongoing IDEA fiscal work activities, staff responsibilities, and deadlines for Part C Data Coordinators. It will also prove useful to fiscal and data managers, SEA staff, technical assistance providers, and others.
Said Westat’s Sarah Walters, MSEd, and Vera Stroup-Rentier, PhD, “We are so proud to be part of the team that developed and implemented this critical resource, which we believe will represent a huge leap forward in how states understand, approach, and fulfill their obligations under Part C of the IDEA.”
