Statistical Disclosure Control

Safeguarding the identity of survey respondents is essential to survey research. And it’s the law. Statistical disclosure control (SDC) procedures reduce the risk that an “intruder” with potentially identifying information about a respondent can match to published data. Westat is an industry leader in harnessing SDC techniques to restrict access or ensure confidentiality. Our broad expertise includes working with a variety of federal disclosure review boards, developing software, writing disclosure analysis plans and papers, performing expert analysis regarding HIPAA compliance, and conducting presentations and workshops on SDC.
