Center for Transportation, Technology & Safety Research

Americans take 1.1 billion trips a day and U.S. daily travel totals 4 trillion miles over a year. To help find and address the traffic and safety¬†challenges that this volume creates, our nationally recognized Center for Transportation, Technology & Safety Research studies vehicle technology, travel behavior, and traffic operations systems. The Center also explores travel issues related to the spectrum of roadway users, such as motorcyclists, pedestrians, and special populations. We ¬†examine and analyze broader issues, such as vehicle automation and connectivity challenges, and even consumer safety issues.
