To reduce the causes and consequences of vehicle crashes, Westat’s Center for Transportation, Technology & Safety Research focuses on identifying problems and evaluating countermeasures and regulations. We conduct national surveys of restraint use and travel speeds. We also provide technical assistance and evaluation services to state and local law enforcement programs.
