Overview

William D. Frey, PhD, is a Senior Advisor for Social Policy and Economics Research. He is a senior executive with 40+ years of experience managing research contracts for a number of federal agencies.

Frey’s particular expertise concerns nationally significant studies that affect the lives of people with disabilities. He has directed projects that measure disability, evaluate programs for underserved and low-income populations, and survey disability in communities, health care settings, and schools. Frey directs the Supported Employment Demonstration (SED) Project for the Social Security Administration. The SED provides integrated mental health and vocational services to people with mental illness who were recently denied Social Security disability benefits. Frey frequently participates on panels and committees addressing disability-related issues.
