What behavioral health programs help specific communities?
Using the Analytic Support Center (ASC) to help behavioral health providers
Challenge
Substance abuse prevention, treatment, and mental health providers routinely develop programs targeted toward specific communities and populations. These providers require information to easily identify emerging issues and affected populations.
Data collected by the Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality (CBHSQ) can be used to assist them.
Solution
For the CBHSQ’s Analytic Support Center (ASC), Westat redesigned and generated the national, 10 regional, 50 state, and the District of Columbia Behavioral Health Barometer Reports, Volume 5, for widespread distribution and use.
These reports provide a comprehensive snapshot of the latest National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) data via user-friendly graphs and figures that providers can use to identify target populations and issues they face.
The Results
This work helped disseminate the latest behavioral health data and information to a broad community. This group includes, but is not limited to, those working to prevent, treat, and better understand, through the use of data, the impact of substance misuse and mental illness on individuals and their communities.
