How can we make it easier to study the travel habits of a metro region?

Visualizing the travel habits of New York City and northern NJ residents

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council and the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority sponsored a large survey of about 19,000 households in New York City and northern New Jersey.

The Regional Travel Survey was designed to support the planning agencies’ transportation modeling needs for the next decade by collecting  information on participants’ travel habits and their socioeconomic information.
