Cristina Rabadán-Diehl
Cristina Rabadán-Diehl, PharmD, PhD, MPH, an Associate Director for Clinical Research, joined Westat in 2018 after a 25-year career at the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). She is a multidisciplinary scientist with vast experience in chronic noncommunicable diseases and global health. Rabadán-Diehl serves as a scientific lead in several projects as well as develops partnerships with domestic and international government and nongovernment stakeholders. A native Spanish speaker, with a long-term commitment to Hispanic health, Rabadán-Diehl promotes, particularly in the U.S. and the Region of the Americas, Westat’s commitment to improving lives through research.
In 2021, Rabadán-Diehl was invited to be part of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA’s) Partnerships for Equity initiative. As a member of the Partnerships for Equity Hispanics/Latinos subgroup, she works with that team to identify projects that will make a significant impact at the community level.
In 2020, Rabadán-Diehl was appointed a member of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA’s) National Advisory Council (NAC), which advises, consults with, and makes recommendations to HHS to improve treatment, prevention, and related services to individuals with respect to substance use and mental illness. She is also a member of the Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Advisory Council (AODAAC) in Montgomery County, Maryland, and an Ambassador for Shatterproof, a national organization to help reduce the stigma of opioid addiction. She is a Professorial Lecturer at the Milken Institute School of Public Health, George Washington University, where she teaches Global Health Diplomacy.
