Deepak B. Khatry

Associate Director

Deepak B. Khatry, PhD, is an Associate Director for Clinical Research. Khatry is a clinical research statistician with 20+ years of biomedical experience in drug discovery research and clinical development of small and large molecule drugs and medical devices. He joined Westat in January 2020 after 12 years with MedImmune LLC/AstraZeneca. His prior experiences were with Sugen/Pharmacia/Pfizer, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Harvard Clinical Research Institute. He has worked in multiple therapeutic areas and specializes in developing efficient clinical trial designs, statistical methodologies for precision medicine development, and analyses of real-world data. He has published 50+ peer-reviewed articles and abstracts, many in high-impact, highly cited statistical and biomedical journals.

Khatry’s work at Westat focuses on new and existing domestic and international observational, registry, and Phase 1 through 4 clinical trial studies for government, foundation, and commercial clients. He manages the day-to-day biostatistical activities of studies, and provides leadership to Clinical Trials Practice statistical staff on projects with regard to clients’ biostatistical requirements.
