Jane Schulman

Vice President & Study Area Director

Jane Schulman, Ph.D., joined Westat in 2008, as a Vice President and Study Area Director. Trained as a biostatistician, Dr. Schulman has a strong background in epidemiologic research. She oversees a wide range of public health research and evaluation; health communications; and transportation technology and travel behavior research projects.

This Study Area examines a range of public health issues and how research in prevention and education can help lead to a healthier population. Clients include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health. In addition, experts in this unit also harness the latest technology to enhance the understanding of travel and promote safety for the traveling public. We work with federal, state, and local Departments of Transportation as well as commercial clients.

In her free time, Dr. Schulman enjoys cooking, swimming, traveling, opera, reading, and a great cup of coffee or glass of wine.
