NIS-4J

The National Inmate Survey for Jails (NIS-4J), sponsored by the Bureau of Justice Statistics, collects information to measure the incidence and prevalence of sexual assault within correctional institutions nationwide, and at the facility level, as required under the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003. Our data collection team, comprising interviewers and team leaders, conducts in-person interviews with inmates housed within jail facilities. The NIS-4J interviewer position involves significant overnight travel across the United States.
