Westat Celebrates Toyota Collaborative Safety Research Center’s 10th Anniversary

Westat’s work with the Rockville Institute was highlighted by Toyota at a recent media event celebrating work previously funded by the Toyota Collaborative Safety Research Center and announcing new projects. James Jenness, Ph.D., a Westat Senior Researcher, gave a presentation summarizing Westat’s work on drivers’ mental models. Using focus groups, longitudinal interviews, and on-road data collection, Westat researchers investigated differences and similarities between drivers in how they relate to advanced vehicle technology. This work has applications for consumer education and vehicle design.
