The states are divided into 4 categories: “states in which the proportion of hospitals is 60% and more and participated in the maternal health initiative in 2019 or earlier;” “states in which is proportion of hospitals is less than 60% and participated in the maternal health initiative in 2019 or earlier;” “states in which the proportion of hospitals is 60% or more and participated in the initiative 2020 or later;” and “states in which the proportion of hospitals is less than 60% and participated in the initiative 2020 or later.”

The states in which the proportion of hospitals 60% or more and participated in the maternal health initiative in 2019 or earlier are: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.

The states in which the proportion of hospitals is less than 60% and participated in the maternal health initiative in 2019 or earlier are: Alaska, Nebraska, and West Virginia.

The states in which the proportion of hospitals is 60% or more and participated in the maternal health initiative in 2020 or later are: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Maine, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin.

The states in which the proportion of hospitals is less than 60% and participated in the maternal health initiative in 2020 or later are: Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming.

The states in which the proportion of hospitals is less than 60% and participated in the maternal health initiative in 2020 or later are: Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming.
