We share our success with our employees. We are proud employee owners and recognize that our efforts and commitment can make a difference in the value of the company. Each year since 1977, through our employee stock ownership plan, Westat has allocated shares of stock to eligible employee-participants.
We recognize that our employees have lives outside of the workplace. We support initiatives that encourage employees to allocate time and energy for family, volunteering, and health-related activities. We bring life to work with programs like employee discounts and social and personal growth opportunities.
We help you take care of yourself by offering wellness programs including an onsite fitness center with low-cost membership and a café with fresh and healthy food choices. Employees can participate in monthly wellness challenges and exercise classes as well as health programs such as blood pressure screenings and flu shots.
The Employee Assistance Program is available free to eligible Westat employees and family members. This referral service provides help to manage personal or family issues as well as financial and legal matters. EAP counselors provide assessment, support, and referrals to additional resources.
We provide eligible employees with vacation time, sick leave, holidays, and administrative leave for special situations. Unpaid leave includes leave without pay and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave.
The Westat Savings Plan 401(k) is a defined contribution profit-sharing plan designed to provide tax-deferred, retirement-oriented benefits. We contribute a percentage of an eligible employee's compensation each year along with a partial matching contribution. Participants allocate their account among many investment options available through T. Rowe Price.
We offer a wide variety of benefits reflecting our belief that our staff is our most important asset. Health, dental, vision, life, travel accident, critical illness, long-term disability, short-term disability, health savings accounts, and a flexible benefits program (medical, dependent, and pre-tax transit) are all available to eligible employees.
We encourage staff to stay on the cutting edge of our research industry. We provide eligible employees the opportunity for professional conference attendance, professional association membership (dues and subscriptions), in-house technical training, as well as tuition and textbook reimbursement for relevant educational programs.
