We’re eager to join our public health colleagues at the American Public Health Association (APHA)’s 2023 Annual Meeting & Expo, in Atlanta, Georgia, November 12-15, 2023. Every year we look forward to this unique opportunity to share ideas and collaborate with other experts in our areas of expertise.
This year, Westat researchers are presenting on topics ranging from preventing HIV in minority transgender youth, to disparities in opioid overdose deaths, to using meaningful measures of community engagement in research, topics that highlight this year’s conference theme: Creating the Healthiest Nation: Overcoming Social and Ethical Challenges. Check out our staff presentations on these thought-provoking and timely topics here.
We are excited to support our National Institutes of Health Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL) client at this conference. Don’t miss these two special events focused on community-engaged research and health equity.
- As the Community Engagement Technical Assistance Center (CETAC), Westat is supporting the Symposium: “Promoting Health Equity Through Community Interventions: Promising Practices from NIH’s Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL)” on Tuesday, November 14 from 1-5pm.
- Westat is supporting the American Journal of Public Health (AJPH) Sponsored session, “Leveraging the Power of Communities in Public Health Crises: A Sustainable Model for Health Equity” on Wednesday, November 15 from 8:30-10:00am.
Learn more about other CEAL sessions at APHA, and visit CEAL staff at the NIH CEAL booth in the exhibit hall, booth #124.
Westat’s research and recruiting staff will be at our booth, #1030, throughout the conference. Be sure to stop by and say hello. We’d love to meet you and share more about our work and careers at Westat!
