New Applicant Survey
The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking feedback on a survey for the New Applicant Survey to help SSA better understand people’s experiences applying for disability benefits. If you are interested in participating, please read the information below and then call toll-free at 1-855-450-6464.
Who should participate?
We are looking for adults who have recently applied for Social Security disability payments (SSDI or SSI). Your participation will help SSA ensure the survey is easy to complete.
What is Westat?
SSA is working with Westat, a research firm located in Rockville, Maryland, to conduct these interviews.
What is the interview like?
The interview will last about 90 minutes and will take place in person at Westat in Rockville, Maryland. We will first ask you to complete a paper survey booklet on disability application experiences and then ask about your thoughts on the survey. You will receive $70 for your time at the end of the interview.
