Westat will be participating in the 2025 NAWHSL Traffic Safety Leadership Conference, taking place on August 21-23, 2025, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This year’s theme, “Bridging the Gap: Connecting Traffic Safety to Everyone,” aligns closely with Westat’s mission to inform solutions to improve public health and safety through evidence-based research. Westat joins a coalition of leaders dedicated to saving lives through enhanced traffic safety initiatives, community engagement, and data-driven policy development.
Emily Burkhardt, a Westat Senior Research Associate, will present “National Digital Car Seat Check and Overlay Coverage,” exploring how data visualization can transform child passenger safety programs. Using the National Digital Car Seat Check Form (NDCF) and an interactive mapping tool, participants will learn to identify service area trends, demographic gaps, and opportunities for outreach.
