Hanyu Sun, PhD, a Westat Associate Vice President for Statistics and Data Science, has been elected Associate Secretary-Treasurer for the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR). AAPOR noted that the organization’s strength depends on its members’ engagement, ideas, and leadership, and that this election reflects that collective commitment.
Sun’s term began immediately following the AAPOR 81st Annual Conference in Los Angeles. In this role, Sun will focus on maintaining accurate, organized, and accessible Executive Council records, supporting leadership continuity, strengthening documentation and decision-tracking, and promoting clear communication to keep members informed and engaged.
“I’m thrilled to see Hanyu elected to this role,” said Liz Mannshardt, PhD, Westat Vice President and Director for Statistics and Data Science. “Her attention to detail, collaborative approach, and strong methodological expertise will be a tremendous asset to the AAPOR community.”
