April 26, 2024

What are the applications and implications of artificial intelligence (AI) concerning federal statistics? Westat staff will be sharing insights at the AI Day for Federal Statistics, to be held on May 2, 2024, at the National Academy of Sciences Building in Washington, DC.

The event is organized by the Committee on National Statistics (CNSTAT), the Federal Committee on Statistical Methodology (FCSM), and the National Institute of Statistical Sciences (NISS).

From Westat, Gizem Korkmaz, PhD, an Associate Vice President, will be presenting on the Use of AI in the Survey Process. Minsun Riddles, PhD, a Principal Statistical Associate, will be moderating that session.

In her presentation, Korkmaz will explore how traditional AI and generative AI can enhance the survey process by improving data quality and generating efficiencies. She will also discuss the limitations, challenges, and mitigation strategies addressing concerns associated with these methods.
