Westat’s Amy Lin, MS, a Westat Principal Statistical Associate, has been elected 2027 Chair of the American Statistical Association (ASA)’s Government Statistics Section (GSS) and will serve as Chair-Elect for the 2026 term.
ASA’s GSS plays a vital role in promoting high-quality government data while also addressing statistical policy issues and challenges unique to public sector data. The section encourages the advancement of statistical practices, provides topical workshops and events, and offers a mentoring program and professional development opportunities.
Lin’s election reflects her dedication to collaborating across sectors and supporting the generation of high-quality data that informs evidence-based decision-making. She will work to strengthen the GSS community through events, workshops, and other training programs for both local and remote members, and encourage participation and collaboration through open, efficient communication.
