Following the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial, I have had the opportunity to hear from Westat employees and others across our industry as we all process our emotions around not only the verdict but also other tragedies in the news, and the larger struggle for justice and equity in our society. I heard reactions ranging from relief and hope, to fear and apprehension of future injustices, often at the same time. But the most common sentiment I heard from our colleagues has been a strengthened commitment to strive for equity, inclusion, and justice in our work and in our lives. I am proud to echo that sentiment on behalf of Westat and to reaffirm our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within our company, across our industry, and in all the aspects of our society we have the privilege to impact through our work.
