Lauren Mims, PhD, a Westat Senior Research Associate, has been elected Vice Chair of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society’s Surface Transportation Technical Group (STTG). The STTG provides an opportunity for researchers, technicians, and others to share vital information, methods, and ideas related to human factors in surface transportation.
Mims will serve a 1-year term as Vice Chair, followed by a 1-year term as Chair. In these roles, she will support STTG leadership and membership activities, elevate mentorship and learning opportunities, and act as a liaison with other groups. In her term as Chair, she will also run the annual business meeting and provide financial oversight.
“I’m excited to take on this role with the STTG and help promote human factors in transportation,” said Mims. “In this role, I hope to grow the technical group and help members connect and share, leading to safer roads.”
