National WIC Association 2026 Annual Conference Will Feature Westat Expertise

Courtenay Kessler, PhD, a Westat Senior Research Associate, will copresent at the 2026 National WIC Association (NWA) Annual Education and Training Conference, which takes place May 27–30 in Dallas, Texas. The annual conference brings together members of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) community to connect, reflect, and advance efforts that support families through WIC.

Kessler will present with Alison Hard from NWA. Their session, “Ensuring WIC Access for All Eligible Families: A New Model for Forecasting WIC Funding Needs for FY 2027 and Beyond,” is scheduled for May 28 from 2:40 to 3:40 pm (CT).

The presentation will examine a new approach to forecasting WIC funding needs. NWA plans to use the model developed through this project to ensure continued access to WIC services for eligible families starting in fiscal year 2027.
