Webinar: Bridging Statistics and Evaluation for Faster, Smarter Policy Decisions

June 3, 2025

To accelerate informed decision-making, a new webinar will spotlight how collaboration between statisticians and evaluators can improve the speed and impact of evidence-building. The Evidence Partnership: Bridging Statistical Thinking and Evaluation Practice will be held on June 16, 2025, at 3:00 pm (ET), hosted by the American Statistical Association’s (ASA’s) Evidence to Impact Network in partnership with the American Evaluation Association’s (AEA’s) Quantitative Methods TIG. Registration is open to all interested in improving how data drives impact.

As demand grows for timely, actionable insights, the session will explore how these 2 disciplines can align their strengths to meet real-world needs.

  • Elizabeth Eisenhauer, PhD, (Westat) will open with a concise overview of evaluation fundamentals, setting the stage for a deeper discussion.
  • Anthony Clairmont, PhD, (EVALCORP Research & Consulting) will moderate a panel with Debra Rog, PhD, (Evaluation Thought Partners, LLC) and Susan Paddock, PhD, (NORC at the University of Chicago) who will share strategies for integrating statistical rigor with practical evaluation approaches.

Attendees can expect an engaging dialogue on collaboration models, resolving methodological tensions, and strengthening evidence use in a dynamic policy landscape. The session will conclude with an open Q&A, inviting participants from across disciplines to contribute ideas and experiences.
