September 12, 2024

Communities across the nation are called to reflect on the ongoing opioid crisis and its profound impact on individuals and families on September 21, 2024, National Opioid Awareness Day. This awareness event serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of education, prevention, and support for those affected by opioid use disorder.

Westat continues to play a pivotal role in working with clients to address the opioid crisis, working to build capacity for implementing, measuring, and improving evidence-based practices, policies, and research that inform solutions.

Westat Principal Research Associates Kelly Cronin and Talia Spark, PhD, recently drew attention to International Overdose Awareness Day: August 31, 2024. They discussed the challenges of the opioid epidemic and what gives them hope for the future.
