What Pneumonia Vaccine Prompts the Best Immunity Response in Infants Whose Mothers Have HIV?

New research compares immune responses of 2 pneumonia vaccines, PCV-10 and PPV-23, and found that PPV-23 provided during pregnancy to be more beneficial to the infants. The findings appear in Effect of Maternal Vaccination of PCV-10, PPV-23 or Placebo on the Immunogenicity of PCV-10 in HIV-Exposed Uninfected Infants: A Randomized Clinical Trial, which appears in Clinical Infectious Diseases.
