Overview

Abigail Flory is a geographic information systems (GIS) analyst and Principal Research Associate for Statistics and Data Science with more than 16 years of experience in database integration and management, GIS modeling, data acquisition, data cleaning, spatial analysis, and quality control. She supports NCI studies of occupational and environmental cancers by collecting, manipulating, and cleaning environmental data; building and managing databases; developing GIS metrics; creating custom programming routines; and generating maps. Flory develops resources, metadata, and deliverables that are well-documented and accessible to clients. Additional projects supported by Flory include NHTSA CTS Rideshare and the National Survey of the Use of Booster Seats (NSUBS) studies in which site locations are developed for field surveying efforts.

In previous work, Flory provided GIS analysis and related services to support the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory at Colorado State University, a firm in Fort Collins, Colorado, and the City of Harrisonburg, Virginia. She is an experienced user of ESRI’s ArcGIS Software Suite, Python programming language, and Microsoft Office Suite. In addition, she is familiar with SAS, R, PostgreSQL, SQL, QGIS, Visual Basic, ERDAS Imagine, and Google Earth Engine. Flory is also a co-author of 13 professional publications.
