Overview

Caroline Porter is an Associate Vice President for Technology and Digital Solutions with more than 20 years of experience leading technical teams in building highly complex interconnected web systems and platforms. She is the IT Project Director for NCI’s Cancer Trials Support Unit, which consists of an eco-system of over 20 applications with many complex workflows and integrations in support of NCI’s cancer clinical trial lifecycle. She has extensive experience simultaneously managing a range of projects from medium-sized to highly visible, complex multiyear projects.

Porter offers full life-cycle software/hardware design and implementation experience using agile, traditional waterfall, and modified waterfall software development methodologies while seamlessly incorporating the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) for Development best practices. Earlier in her career, Porter spent 15 years as technical team lead for the Bloomberg Industry Group’s (formerly the Bureau of National Affairs) flagship customer-facing legal publishing web platform and later served as manager of system architecture. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Scrum Master, and CMMI Associate.
