Jacob (Jake) Beckerman-Hsu, PhD, is a Senior Research Associate for Education and Social Policy, where he leads analytic, data system, and research efforts that support and strengthen federal nutrition programs. He brings more than a decade of public health and nutrition experience, spanning quantitative and qualitative analysis, data science, survey and data system design, and applied policy research. Across his work, Beckerman-Hsu focuses on delivering clear, practical insights that help clients make informed, evidence-based decisions.
His portfolio includes applying methodologies such as probabilistic data linkage, multilevel modeling, and longitudinal analysis to help partners make sense of large and complex administrative datasets. He also leads data-focused technical assistance, national trainings, and the development of practical resources for program administrators. Working in both English and Spanish, Beckerman-Hsu emphasizes collaborative problem-solving, accessible communication of findings, and close partnership with client teams in his approach to improving operations and supporting better outcomes for participants.
