Joann Sorra, PhD, an industrial-organizational psychologist, is a Vice President for Behavioral Health and Health Policy. Her applied research has focused on identifying the organizational and contextual factors that improve health care service delivery—for the benefit of patients and their caregivers, health care staff and providers, and health care organizations.
Sorra’s work developing surveys on patient safety culture in health care organizations has had widespread impact in the U.S. and internationally. She also studies patients’ and caregivers’ experiences with health care and evaluates interventions designed to improve health care delivery and outcomes. Sorra is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
