Patrick Mitchell, ScD, is a Principal Research Associate for Clinical Research with more than 10 years of experience in infectious disease research and analyzing public health data. His overarching interest lies in conducting rigorous yet timely analyses to inform disease control efforts. His current work primarily focuses on using electronic health records (EHRs) to study respiratory infections and other diseases. His earlier work has spanned a broad range of topics, including microbial genomics, pathogen transmission modeling, and outbreak investigation. In prior roles, Mitchell has conducted near-real-time genomic surveillance of respiratory infections and applied Bayesian modeling to better understand Zika virus manifestations.
