Overview

Sophia Tsakraklides, PhD, is a Principal Research Associate with over 20 years of experience conducting health care research. She has a strong background in every aspect of mixed-methods research, from designing studies and developing interview guides and surveys, to conducting interviews and participant observations, managing and analyzing data, and authoring manuscripts and technical reports.  Tsakraklides has directed several evaluation studies, including the evaluations of NCI’s Implementation Science Centers in Cancer Control (ISC3) Initiative, and of the State and Community Tobacco Control (SCTC) Initiative.

Tsakraklides currently works on NIH/NHLBI’s Community Engagement Assistance Center (CETAC), where she liaises between CEAL grantees and NIH, and provides technical assistance and program evaluation consulting. She has directed multiple Delphi Studies, including studies to identify core competencies in cancer care delivery teams and to distill strategies for achieving health equity in cancer care through implementation. Previously, she served as project manager for AHRQ’s Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) User Network, managing day-to-day operations, overseeing outreach and promotion activities, and providing project design and implementation counsel.

Previously, Tsakraklides taught Temple University, Princeton, and the University of Pennsylvania. She currently serves on Westat’s Health Equity Taskforce.
