April 29, 2020
The U.S. Department of Education published the 41st Annual Report to Congress (ARC) on the Implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), 2019. For 20+ years, Westat has been helping produce this report on how the country is implementing the special education law.
The reports provide data to Congress to support funding programs and projects to serve the educational needs of children and youth with disabilities.
Stakeholders across the country can use the annual report in their work to
Set program and project priorities and fund requests that align with data trends
Engage states about ways to calculate and display their data or review data quality issues
Make decisions about data quality improvement efforts
Locate studies or evaluations that address a specific question of interest in the state
Reports going back to 1995 are available on the U.S. Department of Education website.
