DC-AAPOR/WSS 2025 Preview: Westat Brings Data-Driven Insights to the Forefront

Westat researchers will take the stage at the 2025 Review Preview Conference on September 16, 2025, hosted by the DC-Baltimore Chapter of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) and the Washington Statistical Society (WSS).

The annual conference spotlights cutting-edge research in survey methodology and public opinion, and Westat staff will be contributing to the conversation with timely and thought-provoking presentations:

  • Jesus Arrue. Panel Conditioning Effects on Sensitive Questions.
  • Casey Fernandes. Who’s Knocking at My Door!? Are the Days of the Unannounced House Visit Dead?
  • Ryan Hubbard. Interviewers in Survival Mode: Is Knowing Half the Battle?
  • Reanne Townsend. The Effects of Prompt Interventions on Satisficing Behaviors and Other Data Quality in a National Cross-Sectional Web Survey.

“The DC Chapter fosters a vibrant community of researchers and professionals in public opinion and survey methodology. Westat is honored to contribute insights on today’s survey research challenges,” notes Brad Edwards, Westat Vice President and Lead Scientific/Methodology Advisor. Edwards, an active contributor to DC-AAPOR and national AAPOR, received the Chapter’s 2021 Outstanding Achievement Award for his contributions to the field, mentorship, and service to the research community.
