Andreea Erciulescu, PhD, a Westat Associate Vice President for Statistics and Data Science, has been elected a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA), the world’s largest community of statisticians and data scientists. This distinguished honor is only given to one-third of 1% of ASA’s membership each year. It recognizes Erciulescu’s innovative developments in statistical integration via hierarchical modeling with complex survey data, outstanding contributions to applications including official statistics, and dedicated service to the profession. “I am deeply honored to be named an ASA Fellow,” she said. “I look forward to continuing to advance the use of data to tackle intricate challenges and contribute to the field of statistics and data science.”

She is an Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI). An active member in both the ASA and the ISI, she holds editorial roles in several prestigious journals and organizes and chairs sessions at international conferences.
