Joann Sorra, Ph.D., an industrial-organizational psychologist and Westat Associate Director, has been elected a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA). Dr. Sorra is one of 90 APA Fellows elected in 2017 and was also elected this year as a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
Fellow status is an honor bestowed upon APA members who have shown evidence of unusual and outstanding contributions or performance in the field of psychology. Fellow status requires that a person’s work has had a national impact on the field of psychology beyond a local, state, or regional level.
“I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work on applied research in health care quality and patient safety at Westat over the past 18 years,” notes Dr. Sorra. “It is an honor to have that research recognized as having had significant impact in the field of psychology.”
