Westat’s Vice President of Data Science and AI, Gizem Korkmaz, PhD, will be a panelist at George Washington (GW) University’s “The Past, Present, and Future of Statistics in the Era of AI” Conference. The conference celebrates the 90th anniversary of GW’s Department of Statistics and aims to bring together established researchers, emerging scholars, and industry professionals to discuss the evolving role of statistics. It will take place from May 8-10, 2025, at the Jack Morton Auditorium in Washington, DC.
Korkmaz’s panel will be on Friday, May 9, 10:30-11:45 am (ET), and will be moderated by Ronald Wasserstein, PhD, Executive Director of the American Statistical Association. Korkmaz will be joined by panelists Jiayang Sun, PhD, George Mason University; Katherine Jenny Thompson, MS, US Census Bureau; and Emre Barut, PhD, QKV Labs.
