Andreea Erciulescu, PhD, an Associate Vice President for Statistics and Data Science, works at the intersection of survey statistics and broader statistical methodologies. Her expertise includes integrating multiple survey and non-survey data sources to address complex analytic questions.
Erciulescu was elected as a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA) in 2025 and is also an Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI). Since February 2024, she has served as an invited member of the ISI’s Membership Elections Committee. Her editorial responsibilities include serving as an Editor for the International Statistical Review, and as an Associate Editor for both Survey Methodology and the Journal of Survey Statistics and Methodology. She also represents the U.S. on the Executive Committee of the International Association of Survey Statisticians, chairs the Student Travel Award Committee for the ASA/Washington Statistical Society, and serves as the 2024–26 Council of Sections Representative on the ASA Survey Statistics and Methodology Section Executive Committee.
Prior to Westat, Erciulescu worked as a research associate at the National Institute of Statistical Sciences and the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, and as a research assistant at the Nielsen Company, Iowa State University’s Center for Survey Statistics and Methodology, and Colorado State University’s Department of Statistics and Department of Mathematics.
Erciulescu made significant contributions to U.S. federal government programs focusing on the production of official statistics in areas such as agriculture, economy, education, health, recreational sports, and space.
