April Fales

Overview

April Fales is a survey methodologist and Lead Statistical Associate for Statistics and Data Science with more than a decade of experience in large‑scale federal research. She specializes in quantitative and qualitative instrument design, focusing on the health, military experiences, and long-term outcomes of service members and veterans.

Fales leads the development of high‑quality data collection instruments across paper, web, and telephone modes. Her quantitative work includes designing complex survey questionnaires that support rigorous statistical analysis. Her qualitative expertise includes protocol development, interviews with a range of populations, detailed transcript coding, and thematic analysis. Her work supports evidence-based policymaking in veterans’ health, military readiness, employment outcomes, and program improvement.
