Judy Tang is a Senior Research Associate for Survey Management and Design with over 25 years of experience in educational research and evaluation. She brings deep expertise in project management, technical support, analytics, and data management, and is highly skilled in both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Tang conceptualizes project timelines and oversees daily operations and methodologies that improve data collection, ensure data quality, and strengthen research analyses.
Her research spans early childhood education through postsecondary and adult continuing education and focuses on learning attitudes, educational resources, coursework trajectories, college and workforce preparedness, teacher factors, and school climate. She has contributed to numerous large-scale national and international studies. She has also co-authored study reports and technical reports and published peer-reviewed articles.
In her previous roles, Tang managed federal, state, and foundation grants and contracts, overseeing operations, finance, and project administration. She has also worked with services that support adult learners in various continuing education settings.
Tang has been elected Program Chair of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Special Interest Group (SIG) on Large-Scale Assessment for the 2025-26 term and will serve as the SIG Chair for the 2026-27 term. Additionally, she has been appointed as the Program Co-Chair for NAEP Studies for the 2025-27 term.
