Overview

Victoria Lazariu, PhD, is a Principal Statistical Associate for Clinical Research with more than 20 years of experience in designing and analyzing a wide range of research data and study protocols using advanced statistical methods.

Within Westat’s Biostatistics and Data Management Core at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Roberts Center for Pediatric Research, Lazariu collaborates with research teams focused on challenging problems in children’s health, including the development of novel treatments for patients with red blood cell disorders and improving the health of patients living with mitochondrial disease. Lazariu is the analysis lead for CDC’s VISION Network efforts concentrated on pregnant women, a high-risk population.

In earlier work, she applied machine learning techniques to process respiratory virus laboratory test records and link them with the Washington Disease Reporting System. She also led data collection, database development, analysis, and reporting for maternal mortality and morbidity surveillance in New York State.
